Eagles Do Rest

Flew…thought I conquered
I scanned horizons
Never blundered
Always had reasons

My wings span wide
I flew great distances
Everything was quite a great ride
Until unprecedented circumstances

Once, I dared anything
Until I began understanding
I couldn’t have everything
Can’t always be a giant in living.

Thought I figured everything out
Now I’m out of reasons
The view from atop brought confusions
I have lost my passion

Nothing is worse than flying and not seeing
Beyond the clouds gathering
The flight is exhausting
Need to find a place of resting

Like success does not come without a test
So does an eagle need rest
Like people getting tired of trying
An eagle too occasionally stops flying

===========================================================

The Road to Success is not straight:

There is a curve called failure, a loop called confusion, speed bumps called friends, caution lights called family, and you will have flats called jobs.

But, if you have a spare called determination, an engine called perseverance, endurance called faith, and a driver called God, you will make it to a place called success!

Dreamy Real Encounter

(- Solomon pronounces his request 1 Kings 3:4-15)

Eyes closed, darkness hides the light.
Peaceful. Silence seem so right.
Just as silence blends with darkness so well,
God’s voice reverberated in my ears like a bell.

“Ask that which I may gladly bestow.”
Oh for a moment I pause to think…
Memories of my father flash like a blow
‘Til words came out, and I begin to flow.

“David, my father, served You for years
Recalling days past, I’m almost in tears
For the kindness You showed so lovingly
To him whose heart sought Yours faithfully.

Now, above all, You’ve hailed me king
Lord, Almighty let Your power bring
Discernment, Wisdom and proper Judgement
To govern and lead onto development.”

“Solomon, you fill my heart with pleasure
You didn’t ask for army nor treasure…
Neither a thousand victories nor long life too
And so I generously give all these to you.”

Suddenly… comes the light!
Darkness turns bright!
Eyes open.  ‘Tis only a dream.
‘Twas real. Or so it seemed.

Cost in Every Sacrifice

Cross

David received an instruction from a prophet called Gad saying that the Lord has given King David three options of punishment: 1.) plague, 2.) constant defeat from conquering enemies or 3.) three years of famine, and David chose the first. This happened after the Lord, Almighty expressed His disappointment to the Israel nation. True indeed, God swept the nation of Israel with a plague quickly causing the death of thousands of people. After seeing the devastating effects of the calamity, God felt compassion and had it stopped. Instead, he commanded David to build Him an altar on the threshing floor of Araunah, the Jebusite. Araunah, upon knowing king David’s plans, volunteered his place, oxens, and other possessions at no cost. David insisted to pay for them and spoke very vital words that so appropriately describe true and sincere SACRIFICE:

“…I will not sacrifice to the Lord, my God, burnt offerings that cost me nothing.” – 2 Samuel 23:37.
David understood that truthful sacrifice involves surrendering and losing. It means giving-up of anything that is valued. The higher the value, the greater the sacrifice.
We, people, reflect the resemblance of this story’s event to our experiences of falling and standing back up, getting lost and finding our paths, or of leaving and coming back. And everytime we purpose to change our ways it entails letting go… giving up of things we have for a long time kept. Usually, we attempt to win God’s heart back by releasing a promise— making a vow— a vow to change and leave behind the wrongs we have for so long discreetly enjoyed doing. It’s funny how sometimes we think that we can successfully sneak out from God when honestly, we can’t. Ironically, what was thought as sin done behind God’s back were the very sins God so visibly saw which caused Him to turn His back on to us in despair and disappointment.
If we are honest in saying “God, forgive me… I want to gain your favor again..”, we must be willing to let accustomed lifestyle go. To sacrifice is to spend away. It translates to our willingness to suffer in behalf of another’s victory, our sorrow for another’s joy, our loss for another’s gain.
Oftentimes, people find it hard to take the stigma of loss. Most find surrender an awful defeat. Perhaps in a worldly perspective, it is. In God’s view, however, it is tantamount to a win-win scenario. When we suffer for righteousness sake, we gain a stronger hold of eternity.
My prayer is for all of us to understand sacrifice the way David did. Giving up something that matters less to us is no sacrifice at all. The five virgins didn’t sleep the night away because they knew that the groom will be pleased to see them awake when he comes. It didn’t cost God just anybody to sacrifice for our salvation. It took His only begotten Son to die for the entire humanity making Jesus a paragon.
How will we answer God should He ask us one day, “Child, how much are you willing to sacrifice?”

On Poops and Pees!!

Perhaps its monosodium glutamate (MSG) or maybe bad memories—-all i know is that I keep forgetting… (old age syndrome—- is closer)…

There is one fresh and frequently-occuring experience lately that I could share, though… its about wiping pees and picking poops… whaaaa… Gross!!! (for most) but now the normalcy of this routine these days are slowly sinking into my system.. Hmmm… maybe some are thinking that  I have finally decided to do some caretaking jobs after my resignation in SPI… Not yet. Perhaps in the future but not now.

Ching2

It’s funny how one day, I got home and found my dad holding a little puppy in his arms… This had a heavy grab on dads pride days ago.. He used to tell us during dinner that he is planning to take home a cute little puppy and always to my mom’s dismay… In my excitement, I always found a way to change the topic of our conversation everytime my mom was ready to argue… I am excited of the thought of a new dog arriving.. it didnt really matter to me whether it is going to be a bulldog, a Rot, or a little pekingese.. as long as it comes from an imported breed… My dad said it comes from a pinscher’s breed. Hehehehe… I did look… looked close.. Close enough to see that it looks very much like any ORDINARY dogs… brown, tight skinned.. Ordinary!!!.. All my excitement ended with a great "Waaaaww"… (i didn’t want to disappoint my dad).. It’s still a puppy, anyway…
Today, i am very much delighted with "Ching-ching", friend of "Chum-chum" (my other beautiful dog) everytime it greets me upon my arrival at home.. Now there are two of them competing for our attention… (actually 3.. "Bugoy" is being held by chains.. It can’t be left alone with chickens!!).. :)… Everything is so good except for a few……. which is that EVERYTIME I WAKE UP IN THE MORNING I’LL HAVE TO KNOW MY WAY TO WHERE THE RUGS ARE AND PERFORM MY ROUTINE OF WIPING THE LITTLE SCOUNDREL’S PEE AND PICKING THE NASTY NUGGETS — POOPS… :))
Well, I guess it’s God’s way of keeping us close to reality. We may be working in an International Company, or earning a big salary, or maybe the boss in the office… but at the end of the day, we still wipe our own asses after we defecate or pick our noses by our fingers… You may be doing otherwise but honestly, we all go back to these practices when in desperate times. :)
So friends, don’t let present abundance or prosperity get you dreaming and fantasizing… Let’s not allow success to bloat our heads. Remember and never Forget to keep feet on the ground. Once we do, God will simply add and never take back.
Beware of MSG, lest you forget!!!

Never too late…

      God is always on time…

I had been checking my yahoo mailbox as early as 7am this morning with anticipation and hopeful that perhaps the company I submitted my application to would at least send a reply to my email. Sometimes all it takes is an answer regardless of whether its contents are good or bad. What’s important is that you know somebody took attention to your effort and the time you spent doing it paid up. After several tries, I almost gave up…. Holding my emotions together and keeping my temperament at low level, I decided I’d give it all up to the Lord. I spoke a few words of prayer and assured the Lord that I rely on His sovereignty and proper timing. I shrugged the entire matter off, read the Scriptures for God’s voice and found my eyes settled on the last chapter of the book of Esther. Somehow my heart was caught by a few phrases… "….thirteen, fourteen, fifteen days….". They were supposed to mean differently in the text but it made mention that tremendous joy and celebration happen during these days of the month.. For whatever reason there is, I feel that God will do something on the 13th, 14th, or 15th of this month. Hahahaha.. I don’t know what the surprise may be but I am sufficiently gladdened knowing that the Lord touched my heart somehow.. for whatever it is that awaits to happen during those days of this month… the Lord alone knows… :) … basta… God is good and His mercy endureth forever!! I don’t care what others may say… I need nobody’s opinion.. All I know is that God touched me in ways I know I alone could understand..

If you happen to read this testimony today, ask yourself.. "When was the last time I felt God’s touch?"
                             Ball
I hope this blessed you. Just remember, God is alive and is everywhere!!! All we need to do is to let our hearts feel once again. Don’t let troubles numb your heart from feeling God’s presence. Never say it’s too late… God is always on time!!!
